The McIntosh 1890 Festival, a non-profit community celebration, is put on by The Friends of McIntosh, Inc. This event is instrumental in enhancing the cultural understanding and historic knowledge of the town.
Each year, the event sees participation from over 250 vendors and attracts roughly 35,000 visitors. Funds gathered from the festival are utilized for the betterment and augmentation of community initiatives. A substantial portion of the funds is allocated towards granting scholarships to local students, aiding them in their academic pursuits.
History of McIntosh 1890’s Art Festival
The inaugural festival took place on October 19, 1974, serving as a fundraising event and initially named the McIntosh Gay Nineties Festival. The event welcomed about 4,000 people.

The historical McIntosh train depot needed relocation and restoration (as it was obstructing the Seaboard Coastline’s route). To fund this project, the Friends of McIntosh organized the festival – marking the commencement of the annual event.
