This year’s Boat Parade is set to be a vibrant and family-friendly event, perfect for residents of Fleming Island, Middleburg, and Orange Park. Here’s your guide to enjoying the evening:
Getting There + Parking:
- Parking Tips: Arrive early as Whitey’s parking lot fills quickly. From 5 PM, police will guide traffic to the overflow parking at Swimming Pen Elementary School, just 0.4 miles away.
- Shuttle Service: Choose between a complimentary shuttle from the overflow parking or a pleasant 10-minute walk back to Whitey’s.
- Traffic Notice: The turning lane into Whitey’s will be closed, so anticipate potential delays.
Before The Event:
- Preparations: Tiki bar side closed until 3 PM for event setup.
- Pre-Parade Activities: Enjoy live music, DJ performances, vendor booths, and a raffle with prizes worth nearly $5,000. Raffle tickets available from November.
During The Event:
- Boat Parade: Begins at 6:30 PM. Find a spot along the property’s bank or the bridge for a great view.
- Waterfront Dining: Reserve a table at the tiki bar for a fee, benefiting SAFE Animal Shelter.
- Dining Courtesy: Regular diners are asked to vacate tables within 2 hours.
- Patience is Key: Expect extended wait times for food and drinks.
After The Event:
- Winner Announcements: Stay for the announcement of boat parade and raffle winners.
- Entertainment: Live music on the main stage from 8 PM.
- Raffle Alerts: Keep your phone handy if you entered the raffle.
- Traffic Management: Police officers will oversee traffic until 9 PM, with shuttles running until 10 PM.
